Did I miss Jason's post?

I heard that Jason Russell recovered a significant number of the decoys that were stolen from his truck at an AL boat launch some time back (like 2/3 of the number that were taken). I think it's terrific news and I wanted to make sure that word got around. Heard that Jason got word that some of his dekes were for sale in a classifieds and he did his own detective work. Glad everything worked out to some extent. Hope the rest of the dekes are recovered as well, but it's a step in the right direction in any case.

Bill,
It is my understanding that there was quite a bit of secret squirrel activity by some of Jason's friends. I was glad to hear he got them back as well. Shawn

Heres what Jason posted on another site:

"Thought I would share a quick story. Over 3 years ago I had 75+- decoys taken from my truck at one of the local boat ramps. All of the birds were carved cork, with a wood bird or two in the mix. I thought that I would never see them again. The day after I completed our NEA carving class, 1 of my students sent me a link to a duck hunting forum classified section. I checked it out and it was them. The guy had on there that some were hand carved by Jason Russell. A few friends acted as buyers. We gathered all of the info needed. I turned it over to the sherrif's dept. I went Wednesday and was able to recover 41 of the decoys. They have 4 guys right now. Looks like it all leads back to a certain individual. I do not know any of the people involved. They do all live within 1/2 hour of my home. Sherrif's dept. say they think they can get more. Pretty exciting to see these birds back home. Sherrif deputy said the first guy almost died when he realized what was going on. I would have liked to have been there and saw the deal go down."

Kind of appropriate that Jason teaching a class on carving led to one of the students providing the tip.
