Duck boat get together in NW PA...

The Pandanarum Rd ramp is somwhat secluded, not heavily used and also has a few picnic tables.
It is a single lane with concrete piers (no wooden docks)

It is located on the NW corner (Ohio side).
A small marshy bay area is close by and there is quick access to the north end of the lake.
There is also a small pontoon boat marina there.

The closer to 79 the better for me since I will be cutting things close on time.

How about the boat ramp just off of rt. 285 it seems to be right in the middle for everybody and looks like a semi-decent ramp for smaller boats...

Sorry to hear ya can't make it Chris...I will be calling you in the next few days.

Steve

Unfortunately I am not going to be able to make it. Too much to get finsihed before I leave for NM on Tuesday.
I hope you all have a good time and am looking forward to seeing some pictures.

So is it just Gene, Ryan and myself showing up tomorrow?

John Aug, John K., Larry P., Darin...are you guys going to make it?

Steve

How was it? I wish I could have made it.
My bags are packed and I am heading to the airport tomorrow at 5:30 AM.

Sam, Nice lil' get together and to meet the guys from site in person. Steve, Darin, Ryan and I were there. Next year need to put out earlier post so fellas can make advanced plans. Ryan offered to let me take his Estuary for a spin around bay. After drooling over them for years I wasn't passing up offer. Really really nice boat, I totally get the displacement hull now. Darin brought a few blocks he carved and painted to float, I had a few I painted, and Ryan brought his decoy mold he made. It took my B.B out for first a float and test run since transom replacement. No leaks, cracks and motor didn't fall in lake. Everything seems to be sealed tight on hull. I forgot to take some pics to post with all the b.s.'in going one. Darin might of taken some pic's to post?
Good luck on your hunt and if ya score maybe hold a pack of meat back for next years get together? hint, hint;)

Gene

I had great time. I showed up late and couldn't stay long, but it was great to meet some of the guys. I passed on the chance to take the estuary for a spin. I've been kicking myself ever since. I did take the opportunity to crawl around in it.....someday!! Here are the few pictures I took.

It was a good time to be out. Unfortunately, I left my boat at home. I didn't want to trailer it around the campus of Grove City College since we dropped my daughter off before we met. The campus was pretty tight quarters with all of the students moving back in. Trailering a boat would have been a nightmare

I just got the materials to make my hull repairs when I got home on Saturday. I have been working diligently on it ever since. Matter of fact I just finished rolling the last coat of epoxy on the outside. I'll sand that and paint it up tomorrow then flip it back over and start working on the inside...As soon as the wood flour gets here that is. It should be here by Wednesday.

Gene's boat is looking better than ever...hopefully it holds up to this season rigors. Ryan, the Estuary...what can I say? Sweet ride man. It was nice to meet you finally, I may just take you up on taking your boat for a spin sometime. And Darins hand carved blocks...where are the pics of those Darin? I knew I should have brought my camera. Thanks again for letting me borrow Willies DVD's. As for myself...well all I brought was my wife and a couple kids that ditched me to go have breakfast. I didn't bring any calls with me this time...But just like I said with the boat - I will next year.

All in all a good time...it would have been much cooler if I had brought my boat though. It really sucks sitting on shore watching guys motor around in their craft while yours sets at home. Next year I will be prepared much better.

We missed a few guys too...hopefully we get some more guys showing up next year. Should we start the planning now?

Good luck on that hunt Sam! By the way, I second Gene's motion...if you bag some meat save a little for next years get together. Or heck, we may see each other at some point during the season. Give me a holler sometime (meat or not).

It was a good time and it was great to finally meet you guys. Steve, I should have asked you to bring a call. I've been interested in checking them out for a while now. Gene, nice work on the boat. I was all prepared to winch your motor off the lake floor if needed. Glad it didn't come to that. Darin...I told you don't be shy and take the boat out. Next time, huh. Very nice decoys too, I really like the bobtail style. Have a great season and maybe we can get together for a hunt.

Ryan

My daughter decided to go back to school earlier than we had originally planned so I was unable to attend.

I was really looking forward to seeing the Estuary and meeting everyone.
