Duck Wrangler/Duck Water boats

The square you see is a seat post. Seats where put in at Duck Wrangler but where never sealed right. If you know these boats there is a box where the bilge pump sits, when they put the top have of the boat on they never sealed this so water has been getting in there from day 1. The bottom line here is if Duck Wrangler stood by there warranty in the first place I would not have started this thread. Thanks Dwayne for understanding the point faulty material was used on a new boat.

Dennis, I think many agree that this is the place to air such complaints.

I feel for you, the repair shouldn't be too bad in the scheme of things, but it sucks to need to tear apart a basically new boat. Once you get it apart and cleaned up what is your plan? New floor and glass it in without foam?

Dennis, I have no dog in this fight. But I do feel this is the place for this kind of discussion and give you props for being civil because I would have had a hard time if this would have happened to me and some people questioned my motive. Based on the photos and info I too would have taken this road if the manfacture wasn't going to stand behind there product and would be livid if I saw scrap Alum in a boat that probably cost a few pennies. Best of luck in getting it fixed.

I read the original post and I would have to say that there wasnt enough info, and it seemed to me like people were just asking questions to uncover if he had personally done anything to the boat. (installed seats and such) Not to trash or blame the owner. I dont have a dog in this fight but I hope that the MFG will remedy your problem especially if it is under warranty. I know the 15 year warranty is for his Aluminum hulls but not sure about the glass ones.

Dewayne,You are as quick to trash on the mfg (especially when its Hoover)as you claim others have been to blame the owner. Wish you felt this way about paint chipping off of decoys a few years back.

DeWayne, I think you have it right.

Not considering any other aspect of this thread but the pictures of the scrap metal pieces for "support", I can see Dennis point.

Therefore Dennis, a big thank you from all of us for alerting us to the construction practices exhibited on your boat and for ID'ing the manufacturer. You likely have saved some of your fellow forum members from having the same experience by buying a new or used boat by this manufacturer.

I think this is one of the best examples of what make this web site so great.

Thanks again and good luck with you're repair.

Best, Bill

i would like to thank you for posting this information. i was about to order a duck water boat but this really gives me cause for concern. i don't mind spending the money on an expensive boat if you get value. i am a firm believer that how someone approaches their work(no matter how small a job or seemingly insignificant of a task) and their effort in producing quality, does not change with materials, company names, etc. either you do a quality job or you don't, and that is shown in every detail of the job, regardless of what that job may be.

customer service would be another major concern when spending that amount of money. if the maker/company does not stand behind their products, then i have to ask, why give them my business? the fact that you have been turned away by this company, makes me wonder why i would experience anything different if i was a customer.

i sure would like to hear the duck water company's perspective on this issue, but regardless, i am glad to have heard your experience with them.

I just cant see spending the money on a fiberglass boat for how and where I hunt. I am sorry to hear about your boat. That's truely a shame. What did the manufacturer tell you when you called them to fix it? How can they legally not stand by the warranty?

Ray, You might want to do a little research on your facts. TDB has nothing to do with Duck Water or Duck Wrangler. Steve Hoover changed the name from Duck Wrangler to Duck Water.

Steve made the duck wrangler which he now makes the duck water boats. both out of Ohio. TDB had nothing to do with these boats.

Why are people so confused about this post...once again steve hoover use to own a company named Duck wrangler....NOT WRANGLER BOATS... NOT TDB ..... NOT THE DUCK BOAT COMPANY... NOT BANKS ECT ECT ECT.......... He folded up shop and now owns duck water boats.... I dont understand why he would not stand behind his work.. This thread is going to kill his buisness.. He needs to be smarter about his approach to the customers. Its a pretty simple fix.. Steve needs to take care of this.. i have already seen the pics that were posted on other hunting sites. Come on steve do whats right!!!

I can't for the life in me understand why an owner of a business would not honor a warranty. Even though Steve was/is involved with both businesses, I am not sure if he was/is the owner of duck wrangler. If he closed that business down and started a new one with new boat designs etc. he really isn't liable if duck wrangler isn't "in business" anymore. That is the chance that you take when you purchase a product, you hope that they are still in business if you have a problem. He could make Dennis happy and probably gain a few sales by making good on this. With the wealth of information on the internet. One sale can literally make or break you.

If Dennis installed the seat holes (I know that he said he didn't) and I was the manufacturer, I'd tell him to pound salt too. No offense Dennis....but that would mean that you caused the problem. You did say that it was purchased that way. Sorry that you have to deal with this and the opener is only a few weeks away.

Post pics of the problem getting fixed and let us know how you make out.

I just read what Steve had to say about this boat on another site and can't wait to see what people will say when he posts it on here. That is if Dewayne K. didn't edited what Steve had to say.
