duckboats.net Sporting Clays Outing - SW Michigan or N Indiana

I like a common location. Might get a better draw of members. Just need to stay away from June 7th. That is the Illinois Prairie Delta Waterfowl Shoot. Unless you all want to come down for it. The course is converted to a waterfowling course dressing it with decoys, shooting out of a layout blind, a boat etc. Make it if you can!

That's precisely why I was leaning towards the south rather than keeping it in my backyard. I've been in contact with guys from 6 states that are interested dependent on their availability on the date once chosen. I think that the course in Bourbon IN (which is where Mark used to hold the MLB shoots) is far more central to more people and more likely a draw to more than just our little click here in West Michigan. Also, after talking to Ryan who runs the club as well as some of the clubs up this way I feel his facilities best suits our needs...He's open Saturday and Sunday, if we do Sunday, he'll throw in use of his banquet hall free (it's almost always booked Saturdays, but typically unused on Sunday), and he has no problem letting in outside food ie. Potluck (Others wanted to sell food out of their own kitchens). Frankly I have yet to hear anything negative about him or his place. Just got to set a date IMHO

Best
Chuck

PS post a link to your Delta shoot in the calendar in the stickies so it can get lost up there with all the other events and raffles and such that no one reads...hehe

Chuck - I think it's a splendid idea! Checked out their website http://backfortysportingclays.com/index.html location and facilities look good.

As part of this festive event, maybe we could see all of our Large Bore Brethren come out. I'd love to hear the roar of those vintage bore guns rig through a sporting clays course. I hear from some of these types they can even break clays with them... :)

I will also donate a decoy from my rig as the first door prize... Will get you a picture soon as I pick one out...

Lastly, April 25-26 is bad for many of us as we will be at the St. Charles Show. May looks good. Pat

I took my 2 youngest kids this past Sunday to KCCL. A great time had by all!!

Thinking about this Chuck, Saturday the 10th is the day B4 Mom's Day so it might work. We wouldn't need the banquet hall - only used it once before. Usually we just sat around the picnic table outside. Grill is there or we could bring our own. Back Forty is pretty accomodating. Just lobbying for the 10th as that is the only day I could make it in May (or June for that matter).

Pete, Saturdays won't work for me at least through June. When I was trying to set it up for March, the hall sounded good, but given the May time frame definately not a necessity.

Brian, KCCL was the one that won't allow any outside food as they want to keep their kitchen in business, so a potluck afterward is out.

Pat, that last weekend of April isn't good for me either, but not because I'll be at the show.

Anyone have a preference between, a conflict with, or indifference between the 4th and the 18th? Post, PM, email, call, text, send an owl or candygram...on second thought, I hate texts, send more candygrams, that sounds good...mmmm...candy

The Back Forty is as good of venue as any. Fairly easy to get to for most folks. And their outdoor covered table area is nice.
