Interesting. I can't wait to see how it comes out. My rule for seat height when trying to keep low is that it can't be so low that I can't stand up quickly. For me this makes a comfortable height to sit without cramping up

This is the approach I took when I built my boat blind.

One of the key dimensions is the height from the floor/floorboard up to the "sill" = 34 inches. I have found that elevation gives clear shooting (with the flap down) from a sitting position. Of course, most of us prefer to stand to shoot - when the circumstances allow.

this boat has a lower gunnel then the tdb or wrangler 19 in from floor to top gunnel i hope to be a max 34 in with roof cover
 
When I built roll up/down blind for my Black Jack I configured it for an 18" seat height with side walls at 46" from floor to top of wall tube. Grassed so it draped inward birds never new I was there. I configured mine to roll down along gunnels on each side with supports on all four corners. Made it easy for these old knees to rise and shoot.

Unfortunately I never took a pic of upright blind. Looked for them last night after commenting. Took a few of Layout configuration with Dodger up and lap curtain deployed though. Basically I installed receivers in 4 corners of cockpit combing> that was Kayak rod holders with a pvc reducer inside to let 3/4 " EMT drop into. Those were set to give me 46" from floor to top of blind wall. A lenght of 3/4" conduit was inside slot in fabric of top blind wall that set down over upright via simple conduit 90 degree fitting. Opening width was set a 28", just enough to stand and shoot from but still allow inward draping grassing to eliminate blk. hole. Blind walls had an inward taper once erected similar to an a frame. When stowing I simply rolled upwards from wall bottom and bungeed to together, picked up of off uprights and stowed along gunnel. Blind walls were made from 600 denier Cordura nylon with grass loops sewn length of walls about every 10". Those walls came out on to front deck and actually hooked to a set of carry/grab handles that came on Blk. Jack. front deck. Rear door and front door attached on same angle as wall terminus via Strapping and buckles similar to the way TDB builds their front rear doors. The rear wall corners hooked via bungee to rear cleats at outside corners of stern. Blind was grassed with rafia which allowed it to roll up easily. Synthetic Blind grass would also allow that but Grass mats won,t.

so canvas guy came this weekend took measurements i went with a 5 in seat base to not get legs cramps blind will be about 28in off deck pics to follow soon it will have a full zipper on one side as like a window hopefully have pice up in a week or two depending on weather
