What's that old saying about the cobblers children going unshod?

Used the final prototype call all during the season, but last week I decided to do one of the Hybrid Honker calls for myself. Settled on a nice piece of ebony (maybe because of the ebony / ivory color of a goose's head?). Beautiful piece of wood. Then I decided what it really needed was a remarque or two on the barrel. So before putting on the finish coats, I took it to the studio for some painting sessions.

Of course, I still need some calls of my own made from Al's salt cedar, and probably should have a goose call out of that pecan.
With all that around my neck, I could be in line for the cover shot on next year's Cabelas waterfowl catalog
 
They are not only beautiful but they really blow nice. I have been practicing with my Acrylic I purchased from you every day. I am almost at the point where these big fat NE ohio honkers are in serious trouble next fall.

With all that around your neck, you would probably have a hard time sitting up to shoot also. :>) :>)
 
awesome call I love the detail on it. But you need more than all the calls around your neck you a few hundred bands to go with it for any cover shot. And dont forget the ZZ top beard

Another work of art. That is a magnificent looking call, Bob. Good to see you finally make one for yourself. I would be just like Blaine because I am practicing with my new salt cedar duck call to and from the bosque every day. It has an extremely good ducky sound. I can hardly wait for next fall's season to begin so that I can put it into some practical use.

Bob, I like the looks of that ebony. Real sweet. But I really like the salt cedar on mine that Al hooked you up with. Makes it a true duckboats.net call! Thanks Al! I would like to see a pic of what the salt cedar looks like in the "green". Al, you got any pics of the stuff you sent him? Trip.
 
A set of Kingwoods came in the mail today...Great looking...Great sounding calls...

I'll send you some pics of the area that I cut wood in and some of the blanks that I sent Bob. I think I still have about 8 that didn't quite fit in the first batch that Bob got. It will give you a little idea of the area and history. Give me a few days to do this.
