Flocking

Questions: Has anyone tried flocking floating decoy bodies? I've never been happy with the glare from wet decoys and was curious if a waterproof flocking material (if even available) might reduce the light reflections. The texture of burlap alone seems to help but once painted or saturated with water it is still unnatural. Not having used the black or tan flocking available for geese, does anyone think that the all black or maybe a mixture of black and tan would work to cover Bean cork black duck decoys?

I appreciate any suggestions or advice you decoy experts may have on reduce the light reflection off wet decoys.

Respectfully,

I have been reading some recent posts by Don Mintz over at the refuge website. He goes under the name woodduck 131 or something like that. He has been experimenting with flocking his foamers and says that it has made a substantial difference in the amount of birds committing to his spread.

rfberan,
I have been flocking canada heads, drake mallards and drake goldeneye heads by the Mintz method. The finished product looks good requires a little more care in handling. Don Mintz covers the subject on working decoys.net.
Bill.

Don also post up on duckhuntingchat.com in the duck decoy forum and his stuff looks pretty good. Hes doing over burlapped foamers. Impressive stuff!
