I've brought back birds twice. The first time we packed them in a cooler that was duct taped shut, flew back into Miami. The HS folks looked at the cooler, looked at their books for about half an hour, made me sign a form, never opened the cooler, and I went home with the ducks in the cooler.
Second trip was different. This time we returned through Atlanta. When we got to Atlanta, we had to fill out a form, turn the birds over to HS and they were carted off into a Delta Airlines deep freeze. I figured I would never see them again. When I got home I had to apply online for an import something something, then call HS at Atlanta and have them inspect the birds, and USFWS then had to be called in to inspect the birds and everyone had to sign off the forms. This only happened after calling about a dozen times and being very polite...that took 6 weeks. Then they were shipped air cargo to a taxidermist near Huntsville that knows Blake, my Taxidermist. I paid about $150 for the Cargo and another $100 for the Taxidermist with the import license to deliver them to Blake. They are still in Blake’s freezer. I'm sure he'll get to them eventually. I think I done bringing back birds from Argentina.
