Our season is winding down in the tristate. Everything's done this Wednesday.
Took this shot on a hunt today:

Bob,

Bueatiful picture. Our season ends tomorrow here also. Already starting to think of next rig to carve or what to add to the existing rig. Found myself thumbing through my copy of "Wildfowl Decoys of the Pacific Northwest" and Thinking that some of those guys really had a true gunner nailed down. Ed Snyder, Charles Bergman. I'd give a lot to have one of their decoys on my shelf.

Great picture, that's what it is all about. It seems like September 1 was yesterday and it will take forever to come around again!

Bob,

Great picture. So, who carved your decoys? Also, I notice you hunt with a sxs - nice looking gun. What kind is it? I'm looking for something a little heavier than my uggies and not as pricey as a Grulla to hunt waterfowl with.

Kevin

p.s. I hunt the Ohio as well - live in Evansville?

Great photo!
here's one of my buddy & Lilly in a sneakbox

Bob-nice pic. What kind of dog blind is that and how do you and your dog like it? -j

It's a "Finisher." She knows what it means when she's told to "kennel" in it and stays put no matter what. Today we had tons of geese working, lots of calling and shooting going on, and she never budged. A big goose is almost more than she can handle, but she's all heart and finds a way to get it done.

The blind has lots of grassing straps so it's easy to conceal, esp. in corn stubble.
Only thing I don't like is that in cold weather it stiffins up so I can never get it to fold small enough to go back in its carry bag. Just get it collapsed and carry it out. Always have to wait 'til I get it in a warm basement to get it re-packed. Probably need to buy a little larger bag of some sort.

Kevin,

It's an Ithaca/SKB 280SE. They made them in the early '70's.
Some hack makes the decoys ;-). If you're in Evansville, you are far West of me. If I'm in water bordered by IN, it's Dearborn and Switzerland Co. (Markland Pool). I wish I was in your area!

Great pics, guys.
I'm still learning how to use the tools here, so please bear with me.
Here's a pic I took of Duncan during an early December hunt in MO.
