Hollow Cork Decoy "wall thickness" ?

If I was making a hollow cork decoy out of dense cork, how thick should I leave cork? Any past experience?

Haven’t worked with much tan cork personally, so it’s hard for me to put a number on it. But I think your ability to judge the thickness, keep things even, not go through the back of the decoy may be more important than a specific width.
I kept mine around 1”-1 1/4” and felt like that was very safe.

If you’re not sure how thick/thin you’re carving, get a set of bowl turning calipers
