Hollow Cork Decoy "wall thickness" ?

Haven’t worked with much tan cork personally, so it’s hard for me to put a number on it. But I think your ability to judge the thickness, keep things even, not go through the back of the decoy may be more important than a specific width.
I kept mine around 1”-1 1/4” and felt like that was very safe.

I leave them about an inch thick. That allows room to lay down an epoxy bed to rejoin the seems. If you drill through when following, simply mix a little epoxy and cork dust. Lay down masking tape across the hole on the outside of the bird and then pack the mixture into the hole on the inside. It happens occasionally when hollowing.
