Bottomed out at 18f in Mobile. Shallow sheltered water on the north end of Mobile Bay and the bays just north of I-10 were frozen over at 6:30 am this morning. Only happens every 4-5 years.

Minus 9 when I left for work this morning...with the wind chill it was minus 34 and they're calling for windchills as low as -40 or more throughout the day.

Steve

-5 in the Genesee River valley when I got up, still -3 -they say the wind chills are around -30 -

west of Buffalo - the thruway is closed

areas a few miles south & west of us are in for up to 3 feet of lake effect - we had less than an inch. then it is supposed to be close to 50 on Saturday - got to love upstate NY weather

16 below zero when I got up at 6am, I don't pay much attention to wind chill but it was probably equivalent to 35-40 below.

Cold enough to have the inside of the garage entry door handle covered in frost when I took the dogs outside at 6:00AM. My thermometer recorded -19F, so not northern plains cold, or Yukon cold yet. Our proximity to the Great Lakes really helps ameliorate our temperatures.

Bright Sun Shine, -4 and Very Windy now. The Blizzard was very interesting, lights flickering, trees bent but none broke (thank God). Our thoughts and prayers are with those who must be, and work outside.
There are more cows (mostly dairy) in our county than people. I can't imagine how trying, and stressful this is for man and beast. Warm up to 20's 30's by Friday.. I do love Western NY.

Anchorage, AK 25 above this morning.

I feel for you folks down there suffering in what for most of us up here is just a Tuesday in a long line of Tuesdays.

In Western Washington, after some bad air days,a fresh front moved in off the Japanese current with refreshing rain and wind; my decoy spinner on the deck flew all night. Temp a pleasant 40; slept with all the windows open snuggled up ina pile of old duck coats in my recliner. Sometime in the night my legs began to go to numb and I opened one eye. My eighty pound Grif lap dog had slipped into place and was so unconscious even the sudden bleat of diesel trains goingby didn't make her ears twitch. Best night's sleep in a long time...Sorry to hear that global warming has all you guys sweating buckets back east...

8* at 6:30 this morning when I parked my truck. Almost stayed in bed but glad I didn't. Did a quick hunt and got two canadas. Wind chill is nasty.

Shoot, Carl, your low was colder than mine last night! 19f here. We're gonna get ours tonight. Yesterday mid afternoon it was 48 and pouring rain here. This morning you could have skated down my driveway.
