Hunting with a stranger (or what boat should I use)

I dang sure better have a boat by then! Yep, the fish are biting already.
And of course, he is welcome in my boat. But if he wants to "freelance" the TDB is the better rig.
 
Just keep reminding me! It will be a year to two before we could come up but I would love to do it.
Either way, once I have my new rig, you are welcome to come on down.
 
I'm figuring this little endeavor is going to take me about 5 years to complete. I haven't added up what the expectation for costs is just yet, mainly because if I have to ask I might have to explain it to someone who might object to the price. So, maybe 5k per year, not including capital costs (vehicle, boats, guns)? Then you got the dog, shells, food, etc. On, and gas...

Lots of planning to be done, learning a lot. Been thinking about sponsors, I figured I'd put a marketing plan together and approach some companies. Thanks for all the suggestions, please keep them coming.
 
I think a camper is the right approach.
BTW: There is a state camp ground right across the street from my office. You can look out at some of our blinds from the shoreline of the campsite!

As someone pointed out you better include a budget line for the beverage of you choice..

How are you going to break this to the wife? You buying her another horse for dressage? (have to calm the waters)

I hadn't thought of using it without the blind as you do. Without the blind it's pretty much a one-man boat, yes?

$20 a day for beer??? I drink that much beer I'll never wake up for the morning flight!

The wife needs to know as little as possible. I buy another horse and I'll have to give up hunting forever.

I can chime in on this discussion with a very personal perspective. While I am always up to try something new there are two things that I try to do faithfully.
  • avoid discussing hunting with my wife at all times
  • hunt afternoons whenever possible
These two things have made my life less complicated in the long run. (and I don't even drink beer)

Boy, that is a ton of bucks. Here I have been contemplating for two years if I should break down and buy a bottle of Scotch. I look at it this way, one bottle of good Scotch is equal to buying a case of 7 shot dove loads that I use on ducks.

Bill, It wouldn't have to be. For me it is because I have put a piece of plywood over the front 2/3 of the cockpit. If you sat on the floor, or throwable PFD with no lid.. two could hunt out of it.
