Interest in a Call Maker's subforum, similar to Carvers Corner?

I posted this question in a recent thread about some calls, but thought I'd start a new thread as not all will open that thread. If you'd like to see and/or participate in one, please chime in.

I've invited a few fellow call makers to check out duckboats.net and to see if they'd be interested in it as a place for sharing calls/discussing call making. Hopefully some will join and express interest here, too.

That was mentioned in the other thread named “Rick hall” and the reason for starting this thread.

We are brainstorming and hoping more open this thread and hoping they will chime in their thoughts for or against the idea.

It’s a shame too. Forums are far superior to social media for actually sharing information. I’d love to see more of it.

Agree completely, though to be fair FB has provided a much better marketing tool for reaching buyers than THO ever could. I don't imagine we could get close to the numbers of active makers as once frequented that forum, but... I do think the "vibe" of this site could be attractive to some and think even a small community of active call and decoy makers would be complementary to the primary duck boat mission.

I would be interested as well. Probably not much participation from myself as other members but I would appreciate the resource channel if I took it up more so than making one or two calls .

Welcome Waylon! Good group here primarily focused on duckboat building, and some very cool boats - and, as you'll see, some extremely talented decoy carvers. Sorry to hear you're not turning calls anymore, you definitely made some nice ones! Hope we can get some engagement going.

Naw, they run pretty much like any call, just require a little more back pressure. Cue @tod osier to comment that there is no doubt I'm full of more hot air than most!

I think I have Mr. Baum with Duckstein headed over. I know ive bragged about his band work and his incredible ability to shape anything into a band it seems like. I think this has some real potential hopefully.
