pete revicki has been teaching me and my girlfriend how to make decoys, we started on the heads and just started the bodies. they are going to be black ducks hopefully
this is the work bench that i made for my room last year, the "i got a woody" was from my old jeep wagoneer, my first car
i started at the bottom of that page and was thinkin those blocks you have there chris look an awful lot like a revicki decoy, makes sense. looking good man.
Not quite what I planned to have on my bench, an almost grown Juvenille Sharp Shinned hawk.
Found it today while going for a walk. I thought it was on a kill at first, then I realized it was injured. It's left side wing was totally sheared of at the shoulder. Not sure how it happened except perhaps a high speed impact with the wire fence I foud it near.
Injury is slightly scabbed over so must be a few days old.
Bird had alot of vigor and tried it's best to take it's angst out on me! I caught it in my Jacket and have it under cover in the barn in a tote.
Taking it to the Raptor center Tommorow to see if they want it.
Jode,
unless you want us to start calling you an ArTeast then yes it will have to be one winged an exact copy of the original.
I am getting back into the swing of things lately and started painting again. Lots of unfinished decoys that I am making myself finish before I move on to new projects.
I just snapped a picture of my bench while I was working. nothing is done yet though. There are lots more base coated I have to finish as well. January should have lots of finished decoys for me to show off and I hope it has lots of new ones started. lots of idea's in my head I want to try out.
