Glad you boys enjoy them! there is A LOT of baumgartner in those birds. He is a favorite of mine. I dont know if he made sleepers but the body shape suits the head pose well. I made 8 of them on the first batch as a test run . I carved a couple with the head and body as one piece but went back to a two piece head and body style. Bob
Bob just something about the scaup decoy made me just love it the way the color looked the eye standing out and how the tail is up like they have when they sleep looked perfect!!!
Nice sprig Bob! Has a little John Warren look to it. You realize, you are the President of the Divomophobes. And, when we come out of the closet, we are to bring the Fedora with us right? pg
I mentioned earlier that I was fooling around with figuring out how I could incorporate inlay-work into a call. It took a bit of doing, but I finally got it worked out.
I had planned to offer these in the "Classifieds," but both sets were gone the day after they came off the finish table. Oh well, p.m. me if you'd be interested next time I get around to doing something like this.

Outstanding uniform look that you're getting with the stamping, Pat!
Were the DuCharme cans in the other post associated with Jimmy Robinson's Delta Marsh Camp?
Thanks Bob! Not totally sure but, a possibility. Peter Ward painted Duncan Ducharme canvasback decoys for both Jimmy Robinson's Camp and the Gaylord Hunt Club. The hen with the most color is one of those birds. So, it's possible. I'll check with Joe. The drake with the tack eyes was made by Dan Ducharme and from James Ford Bell's rig. Bell was the owner of General Mills who purchased that area of Lake Manitoba and started the Delta Research Station along with Miles Pirnie, Aldo Leopold and Al Hochbaum. The Wards were the caretakers. I just got access to the old historical documents and logs and have been studying them. It's fascinating waterfowling and decoy history. Will post up some info and pictures from time to time.
BTW, you can still hunt Jimmy Robinson's Club and some of the Ducharme Family still guide there on Lake Manitoba. http://jimmyrobinsonsducklodge.com/
Take care Bob! Hope you and your family are well. Pat
Pat, now you are talking some serious duck history. Access to those records would be fascinating. I know that dozens of delta students over the years have drooled over some of those decoys and learned bits and pieces of the history but getting access to all of those records must be amazing.
Really like the Wigeon! Can't wait to hunt over them this year...of course you'll have to check my decoy bag before I go home to make sure they are not in my bag
