KS Gov Vetos Proposed Non-resident Waterfowler Restrictions

It’s gotten to the point where these channels are having such a significant impact on the places we hunt, that it begs the question whether the Pittman Robertson excise tax should be applied to them.
(y) I can't see that happening, but I share the sentiment.

Find an opportunity to set a better one, either on your own or with an org, and you might be surprised by the results.
+1 well said.

Tim Clark, you are a hero of conservation in my book. Wow, you opened my eyes and helped me to understand better the next generation of hunters. Good job! Richard

At least in my own family the next generation's lack of participation in outdoor related activities is largely due to smart phones and the like. I remember when my nieces and nephews joined our family and a smart phone or handheld video game was shoved into their hands from an early age. Cheap babysitter or maybe just laziness on the part of my brothers and their wives. Either way these same nieces and nephews never lift a finger when it comes time to cut grass, clear fallen trees or help in any of the innumerable chores that owning hunting land requires. I fondly remember my childhood because we were made to work. We suffered frozen fingers and toes because there wasn't an early youth season to make us more comfortable. The younger generation of hunters are standing on the shoulders of giants with no thought of how they got there.

Hey a guy can dream!

Richard - hopefully they grow out of it. Must be frustrating seeing that play out with family. As for the young guns you hunt with, hopefully a little time and pressure gets them involved in the other side of conservation eventually. If they’re truly hooked on waterfowling, they’ll take the excuse to chop it up, bid on some toys and maybe walk away with something good.
