Lockable, waterproof storage for boat

I am looking to find a lockable storage structure to secure in the back of my big water duck hunting/fishing boat. The boat is a 21 foot Sylvan Offshore deep V. I am looking for something around 4-5 feet long, maybe 2 deep and 2 feet tall. Would want it strong enough to double as some extra seating and want it to be waterproof. (Rubber gasket lid or equal)

Was originally thinking of a pick up truck tool box kind of thing, but not sure I want the shiny diamond plate material or even metal for that matter.

Anybody have any thoughts on manufacturers making something along my description above? I have been searching the internet for every possible key word(s) I can think of, and just can find what I am looking for.

Any leads appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad

Brad~

Searching on "DOCK BOX - MARINE" brings up lots of products.

On the other hand - being Old School - I originally built this as a tool box for my '83 Ford Ranger . It had a crowned cover then. It is 1/4-inch AC plywood, framed with oak and covered with 'glass. With its Mahogany top, it's now an interior storage box/seat for the pilothouse on the CASSIOPEIA.

Brad,

I have seen some very sturdy molded truck-type boxes in places like Lowes, Menards, etc. Take a stroll through and you might be surprised what you find at a reasonable price.

If you have a sams club or lowes near you they sell deck boxs about the size your interested in. Lockable , gasketed lid. Tough enough to sit on but you could always fab up a top similar to steves to make it pertty. They usually sell for about $100. I purchased one from sams to store patio cushions in and was impressed at the toughness.

Dang, Steve, you set the bar higher with that build than I may want to tackle, but it looks very nice. I may give that idea a go if I don't find something that fits perfect.

Bob - Roy: Thanks for suggestions, will check them both.

Thanks,

Brad

I used a Hardigg case that was water tight, 4'x2'x2' and it doubled as a seat just as youre talking about. it was rather huge in my 1654 mud boat but worth it to have all the things I wanted with me. in this particular boat it was a nice counterbalance as well to work my way through mud flats and such.
