The majority of the hull work is complete. I had received a mis-matched pair of oar locks in the hull, so that would not do! I found a pair and followed Tom's methods to create a new pair.
Tom Prudente was in the plumbing trade.... I suspect he designed/fabricated this style himself:
I then spent sometime noodling out a plan for the windbreak/dodger. I was not looking to create a full dodger for this hull, wanted it maintain as low a profile as practical. Just something to keep the back of your neck protected from the wind.
I went through 2 other designs before settling on Plan C.
The canvas will snap to the deck, using the same snap locations as the soft cockpit cover will use. I have a thought to make the cockpit cover serve double duty as both the cover and the lap apron?
So here are the finger cleats for the lap apron bungees:
The canvas, thread, webbing and shock cord are all in hand. I have a plan to go up to visit Mom on Friday for some fabricating and sewing. If the Tuckerton gathering occurs on Saturday, I will plan to splash her there.
Spars are all painted, sail is set to mast, oars are painted, but will likely get leathers yet. After this weekend, I need to pull out the 1938 Neptune OB that I had gotten running a couple years ago. Clean it up, and fire it up again to complete the display.
Little side projects I may yet tackle before the season are a tray/box to store the anchor, and a rowing seat.
