Yes, punt guns and hunting with them is perfectly legal across the whole UKI am guessing using a punt gun is legal in Scotland? I have seen the photos of punt guns from Outlaw Gunner.
bummer on the barnacle. Is the white fronted goose just another name for the specklebelly? Ive shot 100's of them. Ill take an egyptian for sure.We do get the odd emperor and a fair few barnacle but you cannot shoot them.
We do also get white front geese and Egyptian geese, both can be hunted.
Yes sir I did. Where do you hunt over there? One day I hope to go back and hunt the Newton Stewart foreshore where my forefathers hunted, perfected their gunmaking techniques, and invented the fasted shot shell reload of its time. I have one of the J. Erskine reloaders and toying with stepping up to get one his Damascus doubles.Sounds like a great trip - I hope you enjoyed what Scotland has to offer!
Mainly in the South East of England but I travel to Scotland frequently to hunt deer and sometimes geese. Findhorn bay, Montrose basin, Ythan Estuary, Beauly firth, Cromarty firth and Dornoch are all good shooting areas up in Scotland!Y

It really is! These are a couple of pictures of my friends in action. It’s an outstanding design but doesn’t take chop on the water quite so well! The Dalgety looks like it could be deadly on the fowl.
I love those Eurasians myself! I shot this one with a flock of American Green Wing's here in New Jersey couple years ago. Both great shooting!
Pink foot geese are also pervasive up there (tens of thousands) and are excellent shooting and eating!
Eurasian teal are still my favourite though!
We get a huge variety of duck here. Gadwall, shoveler, goldeneye, pintail, tufted, pochard and of course Mallard!
It’s well worth a trip for hunting!
That’s awesome! Did you get him mounted?!I love those Eurasians myself! I shot this one with a flock of American Green Wing's here in New Jersey couple years ago.
Yes I did have him mounted. That’s awesome! Did you get him mounted?!
Eurasian teal and widgeon are the main quarry for us, both shoulder gunning and punt gunning!
I've been to some of those as well, beautiful places!Mainly in the South East of England but I travel to Scotland frequently to hunt deer and sometimes geese. Findhorn bay, Montrose basin, Ythan Estuary, Beauly firth, Cromarty firth and Dornoch are all good shooting areas up in Scotland!
