You say that there are not two Tods, only one. Apparently those that know you personally disagree. When I had a run in with you I received a few PMs from folks that said they knew you personally and considered you a friend. They stated that you are very different in person but for some reason you seem to like to act like a JA online. I PMed back to them that I was pretty sure that it was no act, but not to worry, I've seen much worse on the job.

I must admit I was surprised by one thing in the PMs though ............. you have friends ?

Tod, I know exactly what a personal attack looks like. I've seen plenty of yours. I also knew what I was saying when I wrote it . It is the type of stuff you write all the time but seem to think is o.k. Just thought maybe you'd recognize it a bit more when seen from the other side. As I've mentioned in the past, I'm a firefighter and ragging on each other goes on in the stations all the time so the stuff you put out is minor by comparison. You sir though are the one who has lost credibility. Its seems in your mind to be o.k. for you to dish it out but can't take it in return. I also can't help it if your friends thought to tell me that you are different in person then you like to come across on line. I assume they know you well enough to make that statement. You posted that you aren't any different, that there is only one Tod. Either your friends are wrong or you need to take a better look at the persona you portray online.

A few data points:

First, I don't have a problem with wind-driven spinners... however, I would never own one, not for me. Hunted over a battery powered spinner once... made a nutty noise, then the belt broke and my pal tossed it in the back of his garage and that was 12 years ago... it's been back there ever since... I would never own one of those either. I wish I could develop improved eye appeal for my brant setup... they don't see us among the rocks sometimes... spinner? Flag? who knows...

Second, my wife was Maryanne for Halloween. And she pulled it off at 46, God bless her.

Third, Nellie deserved a spanking, I'm not into that so I like Mary best.

Fourth, I lurked the whole time, waiting for you to chill out... and you were doing very well, got a bunch of emails commenting that you had learned your lesson, then poof - you couldn't help yourself. Note all the "edits" in your emails... you thought twice and edited... that's good.

This is a community with a lot of pros and providing wild technical opinions or over the top solutions to problems are tolerated somewhat... folks are called out re their "proof" from time to time and some arguments ensue... but the personal insults are no fun and uncomfortable for everyone. I think that's what folks are saying to you.

If having "sack" is wasting time fighting with you all the time so you can be more and more like Steve... then I guess I don't have sack. See that 3 weddings and a funeral movie... Steve is Hugh Grant, you are the other guy...

You got the technical goods kid... get the "decent human" thing going and soon you'll be truly respected in this community. The guys who defend you love the swearing and smacking around stuff... it's a small group.

I'll never have the technical goods like you Tod, I just want to talk boats based on my own experience and folks can take it or leave it... that's all I ever wanted out this place.

Andrew, a lot of people come and go. I don't find your personal story any more compelling than any one else who left in a pissy fit because they couldn't get their way and came back to take on the same argument that they left on. History suggests that you will be frustrated in your attempts to right the wrongs you see.

You want me to conduct myself in a way that you view acceptable - that isn't going to happen no matter how much: 1) life coach BS you pour on me, 2) how much you wail and stir the pot or 3) you try to drag me into some situation where the moderators find me at fault. In the final regard, I close this dialog.
