NDR: Small Brag

Katie shot the NFAA Mid-Atlantic Sectionals this weekend. She's almost 10 and shoots as a freestyle cub (10yds). Our home club, Buckshorn Sportsmen's Club, hosted the shoot locally. There are 6 total states that comprise the Mid-Atlantic Region for the NFAA. Don't know how many total venues host this shoot. The results won't be known until all the venues report their scores and the final standings are posted. Friday night she scored a 288, 25 X's, 9 inside/out X's. Sunday she scored a 292, 30 X's, 13 inside/out X's. Best possible score is a 300 with 60 arrows shot. You to shoot twice and your best score is what is counted. X's are used as tie breakers and inside/out X's narrows it even further. An inside/out X is any arrow completely within the X ring that does not touch the scoring line. All arrows get scored as the next highest score if they cut a scoring line between two scoring rings. She's shooting better than ever right now.

A 25 and 30 x round is outstanding, I don't care who you are! If your daughter applies the same discipline to the rest of the activities in her life, she is destined to go far. Both of you should be proud.

Thanks everyone! I'm very proud of Kate. She's truly a great kid... must get that from her mother. I stumbled across a few photos of her practicing a few months ago. I was playing with a camera setting on my new phone that takes several quick shots in a fraction of a second. I managed to get a few shots of her arrow in flight. Thought it was worth sharing...
