NDR - Two of todays builds @ NY Natl Boat SHow

We just started loading into the Jacob Javits Center in NYC for the NY Natl Boat show. Instead of having a large travel lift they had two cranes to unload and build the boats this year, a cost saving measure. Savings to who, I don't know. Our bill was still obscene. Talk about not having the right tools for the right job. It took over two hours to rig the 50' Azimut for the lift and get set on blocks. Something that should have taken 20 minutes with a travel lift. In total 10 guys standing around waiting to get some work done. I just don't see the savings in that move.

In all 9 large yachts to set up and get ready over the next two days then on to the smaller sport boats

Anyone going to the show?

Eddie.

It's all coming together well. All the big boats are in place and most of the smaller boats are set also. In all 30+ boats set in place and only 3 small one left to load in . Most of the bridges and arches are done. We have a few radar units to install and just some fine tuning to get the rest of the boats show ready.

I know, no grass rails.
Thats why I enjoy working on my little boats so much. I get tired of those big yachts day after day. Don't get me wrong, they are beautiful but it's just not the same as working on a duck boat.
