New migratory bird regs in FL this year

Well, FWC has approved the migratory bird season. Due to the bwt population, the extra teal only days in our September season is being removed.

They have also upped the pintail bag from 1 to 3.

Are other states getting reduced days in their teal seasons this year?

Not us but we don't have a special teal season. We just get our normal 100+ day season for all ducks. The pintail limit going to 3 is going to be really nice on some days!

Are there any northern states that have an early teal season? We've never had one in Maine. I think we are also going to 3 pintail limit, which would exceed the total number of pintails I have shot in ~20 years of duck hunting. I did get one nice drake two season's ago, and an immature one a few years before that. I've only ever seen them in mixed flocks of birds decoying, usually with mallards.

Minnesota has early teal. I seem to remember reading in DU magazine that the feds are giving states the option of reducing the length of season or reducing bag limits. I've never hunted early season cause it's usually too damn hot. Richard

I'm not even sure if LA has had their meeting yet.

Doesn't really matter anyways, they don't listen to anyone other then who is stuffing money in their pockets.

I will say this, Im not even sure we get enough pintails wintering in LA for us to even be able to shoot 1 per day. 20 years ago sure, now??? Hell I haven't seen a mallard in three seasons
