New Sneakbox Project

Just picked up this beautiful Van Sant sneakbox. From looking it up and down im figuring it is a 1940s. This box was found on the meadows in Atlantic City area and brought to Grants boatworks Forked River was fiberglassed and repaired. In 1974 and was Bought by Dan Britton in 1975 who gunned it for 5 yeas then it was stored in Dans Basement from 1980 till today when it saw the light of day. The box needs ice runners and some glasses work on the hull. Van Sant sneakboxs are well known as the Cadillac of sneakboxs due to the phenomenal craftsmanship.

These are really nice. There was one in Dividing creek years ago a guy I knew had, but he wasn't a sneakbox guy, used it very little, and I think it went the way of the dinosaur. Glad you have this one Bob!

Love this boat brother...has some similar details of the scooter project I'm currently working on! Imagine if this level of quality craftsmanship was still around today..... or even the birds.. Look forward to the restoration!
