After back to back wedding weekends taking up all my time I took Tuesday off and headed south with my dad for my personal season opener. 70 degrees and partly sunny with a light breeze isn't exactly the best weather for waterfowling but it was great to be back out on the salt marsh.

Shortly after legal we connected with a drake mallard to get the season under way. By mid morning without seeing a ton we decided to pick up and make a move to try to find a better concentration of birds and perhaps some teal. After taking a ride we came upon some decent numbers of black ducks and shortly after setting back up we had a pair come in beautifully to fill our black duck limits. For the rest of the morning we had black ducks coming in on a string, but no signs of any teal. By noon and not having packed a camo t-shirt we decided to pack it in and head home.

Fun little hunt to start off the season and I was able to get some video footage as well. Hope you enjoy.

Nice hunt Craig! I see a "doggy" cam in your future to capture a "dogs eye view" of the hunt.

Ha ha Bill I don't know about that. I drive myself crazy enough with the multiple cameras. Just happy to get out. The Regulator hasn't moved in over a month!

Craig~

Glad to see more of your photos - especially standing at the helm of the "at speed" Sneakbox.

All the best,

Very nice shots, Craig. Glad to see you and your dad got into some ducks on a not so ducky day. Your salt water marshes sure look inviting! Great closeup of your pup. What is on the barrel of that shotgun?

Thanks everyone. I find myself enjoying documenting my hunting and fishing trips almost as much as participating in them... well almost!

Al the strange looking thing on the barrel of my Benelli is one of the GoPro cameras mounted with their 'sportsman' mount. It was my first time using that particular mount and it seemed to do it's job.

[font=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]Awesome video Craig, loved it! Can you post a clear shot of the barrel mount?? I had one but was way shaky.
Thanks

Farrukh, I don't have a shot of it on my gun, but this is the mount I am using. This was my first time trying it.

Last season I had one of the capture your hunt mounts but it broke the last week of the season and I never replaced it.

Thanks Craig, last year I tried one which goes on behind magazine tube cap, didn't like it that much, I'm impressed by the way you keep the barrel camera aimed at the falling birds after the shot.
