October - What's on your Work Bench?

Bob~

A great bunch of birds - real eye-catchers!

Those dark breasts on the hen Butterball, though, sent me scurrying to my Mason reference book - sure enough, almost all of theirs were painted with a dark breast.

I really like those Whistlers (Goldeneyes) - but I remain skeptical that they actually nest in utility poles out your way.....

And, I presume that Esocid is attracted by the shadow cast by your Goosander. VERY creative!

All the best,

SJS

Rob ,thanks for the thumbs up!
Steve, I too went to the Mason book for confirmation on that dark breast. These are for myself to be used in late November. These are a rig of 18 Goldeneyes, Buffs, Mergs and misc cans , and bills to round out the spread. Thats about it for me as the Season begins on Saturday.

Two mallards with a little St. Clair Flats in them. Skinny necks high heads. Not hollow though. Shelf birds. Now I think im almost done for the season. Bob
