Old Duck Hunter Photo

A friend of mine emailed me this picture of his Grandfather. The photo was taken in 1949 in Minnesota.
The man's name was Clyde Reynolds. The photo came with the note that the Model 12 killed 'a lot' of ducks. Just thought I would share a little history.

Dave, you don't hunt in flannel any more? Gosh...maybe I'm out making a fashion statement these days. hmmmm maybe it's like those styles that die and come back

Dani,

What would you know about hunting in flannel? Seems to me you're always in short sleeved tee shirts in the photos posted here.

Tee shirts with the tags on the outside by the way too! Is that a little known method for killing ducks with bands?

The good old days Robert, life before CAMO!

Dave

Dave,
I like the retro clothes. I wore a 10X jacket my wifes grandfather had for years until it fell apart. from time to time I break out the woolies and a tie.

Nice Pic

That's no squirrel gun he's holding.

That is a Fox Sterlingworth with 30" tubes choked full and extra full. Double triggers with extractors. The trigger tang is long for me and it bruises my middle finger after extended use, therefore I don't shoot it often. It patterns at about the size of a dinner plate with the right tube at 30 yds with #4 bismuth.

it gets the job done :) maybe that is my secret to success. who knows? anywho, if you notice my pictures are mainly taken AFTER the sun has come up. Before then, well I get made fun of for wearing so many layers...something about my entire laundry bag coming with me to keep all my clothes in.

That picture looks too new!

Here you go - now you really look like "Mister Nash - De Shootinest Gentleman"
