Time is flying by. We will start saying goodbye to these rascals this weekend and in the ones to come. Kids have grown really attached, especially Caroline. Thomas has become good buds with the darkest male, "Hunter." "Sugarfoot" is the one Caroline likes to play with. Me, I'm fond of "Pretty boy" and Michelle still likes "Big Momma" the best.

This video shows just how playful they've become. Lots of energy bundled up in such a small package. Lots of poop too! They played hard in camo gardens for about an hour this morning and then fell asleep. Hated to wake them and put them back in the whelping box.

Just finished going over Cassie's pups and man they look good. They received their first round of vaccines and another deworming (even though we have never seen worm issues). Still not a bad pup in the litter. I picked out a female and she just finished eating and is asleep in my office. Thanks Eric.

Eric,
How are the pups doing? Any left? We LOVE our "Rosie" pup. I know I'm a biased dad, but she is SMART! A whistle with a treat and you better watch out, because she will come arunning and knock you down. She is sleeping in my office now. Doing very well on house breaking for a 7 wk old pup. We couldn't be happier with her. Thanks!!

Thanks for the report. Keep them coming. By next weekend most of the pups will be in their new homes. We have just a few left. Some owners are driving and some are flying in to pick up their pups. The rest I'm sending on Contenintal Airlines who happen who have airconditioned cargo loading areas so they can get around the USDA 85 degree travel restrictions.

I'll be in touch.

Congradulations on the litter Eric. I did not know you had a group of new arrivals until Victor told me a few weeks ago. We are building a new house so I have been tied up with that and have not had time to log on in a while. I hope everything goes well with them. Buy the way I'll bet the tupelos are dry by now, maybe if they are that will keep some of the riff raff away.

Thanks. You interested in a nice pup?

Tupes still holding water judging by the ones I drive by to work everyday on the Arsenal. Water is low but there is still a lot of it if you can belive that given the record drought we're having and the dry dry conditions over the past 3 years.

When should I start worrying about the pin oaks in my yard Mr. tree expert?

I would love to to get one, but I think Sadie would be jealous. I forgot that those Tupelos are spring fed anyway. After all when they freeze the spring is where I hunt. I would watch the oaks, if the tips of the leaves begin the get brown like they do when they first begin to turn in the fall I would be concerned. One precaution might be to go buy some of these bag watering systems that slowly release water and put those on each tree. Once they start to go down hill it will be too late. I haven't seen many trees that have been affected yet. Keep your fingers crossed. How many pups do you still have available for sale?

I saw on record a few days ago where TVA has sold the land around and including the Tupe swamp to a private individual. He is an avid environmentalist and will no longer tolerate hunting of any kind or trespassing on the property. He intends to allow the land to stay natural and act as some sort of refuge. I know this because he is a long time family friend with enough money to do this type of thing.
