Question for those that participate in the "What's On Your Work Bench" Monthly Thread

As many of you are aware I set up an account on Instagram for duckboats.net, simply called duckboatsdotnet, and have been posting pictures of mine there for the past couple of years. There is a link to this Instagram account on the Main Index, you may have noticed it, if not take a look.

I would like permission to use some of the fine pictures you all contribute in the monthly Workbench thread on the duckboatsdotnet Instagram account. What I plan to do is post these pictures with a link back to this site encouraging people to register and become a part of this community. I will tag the posts with #WhatsOnYourWorkbench" and point viewers back to this site. Before I use anyone's photos I want their okay. So please respond in this thread or send me a PM indicating you are okay with picture of yours in the monthly Work Bench thread being posted on the duckboatsdotnet Instagram account.

So why am I doing this? It is very simple, recruitment. I am trying to reach people who not only want to see pictures, but also want something more substantial in terms of dialog. Instagram is great for pictures, but it's capabilities for written communication just aren't there and I believe old school web forums still offer the best solution to someone looking for a discussion, help, or a community to be a part of. I'm trying to bring new participation to this site. I think everyone knows internet forums are dying at the hands of Facebook and social media. Many have closed up shop or have lost all activity. I intend for this place to be "The Last Man Standing" and as long as I have enough support it will keep going. I think everyone is aware members here come and go and not everyone will be a permanent fixture like Carl, Tim J, Dani, Dave, Steve Sanford, etc.. We need to see that as people move on there are others that come in behind them with fresh energy wanting to be a part of this community. I hope to reach a few folks that maybe aren't aware of the great thing we have here and bring them onboard to share an learn like all of us have.

I hope that it helps to get people to come and visit. One of the main reason I haven't really gotten on board with social media is that I like to tell and read stories and have the dialog that we have here and I haven't run across social media platforms that allow that very easily. Surely there are more folk out there who enjoy stories and how to threads and dialog like we have here.....

Instagram,,,,,,,, what's Instagram? [w00t] guess I need to talk with my grandkids and get an account.

To answer your question, I'm fine with you further sharing anything I have shared here.

Anything that will help gather interest, educate, and encourage new folks to join is OK by me.

Just yesterday I got the new issue of Field & Stream magazine, informing it's readers it is now a quarterly magazine. That's about as close to closing up as it gets

I do believe that somewhere in the future, things will go back to books, magazines, etc., just as the plastic problem/ban is now raising interest in glass bottles & containers. Huh.

Everything goes around if ya wait long enough.

Been through 3 forums disappearing, two went to Facebook and it's just not the same. Thanks for keeping this place going on all fronts.
 
I would say go for it, even though as long as I have been here I can't seem to get the picture thing right.
 
Have Instagram on my desktop (which leaves me unable to post any pictures there), but didn't want it on my phone..... too 'busy,'.... but I do like seeing pictures of my grandkids [;)] . Guess I've come to enjoy sitting down and visiting Duckboats each morning over breakfast & coffee. However, go ahead and share anything you like, especially if it introduces people to DHBP!
