Same guy... new boats...

Well.................. It’s been a while. I used to me a member here quite a few years ago. Eric helped me through a build on a Sculldugery II. Since then I’ve gone through 10 or so different types of duck boats. I have recently built a couple new boats, and I thought you ladies & gentlemen might like to have a look. The first one is a Devlin Bluebill. I altered the plans a little. I decided to pointy up the bow. I was never a fan of the squared off look. I run a 20 hp. Honda on her. Before I got her fully rigged. I started a new boat. I’ll show you that one in a different thread. As soon as I finished the 2nd boat, I broke my back in two different places. Compression fractures. So I haven't been able to get the Bluebill Fully rigged. I’m feeling pretty good now, so this summer I’ll get her all rigged. As you can see I didn’t put grassing rails on her. I plan on making a heavy duty Cardura camo cover for her. Where I hunt, there is very little cover, so I want to stay low as possible. Also I want the cover to be all synthetic materials to avoid rot, and having to re do it every year. Dale

Hi Chris, do you have a scull boat?

That's as clean as a stitch and glue boat gets, awesome work! Do you have any photos of your Scullduggery? I have plans for the 1-man version but I've never seen a photo of a completed one. Welcome back!

Wow, that is one very nice Bluebill! That is my dream boat when I start hunting solo again after the boy is off to college.

I did the same bow to the broadbill devlin bows are ugly your boat looks mint

Thanks Pat, I probably put way to much labor in, since it is a duck boat. But if I'm doing something I go all out.

Thanks Cody, Sorry I don't have any digital pictures. I have some old photos, but no scanner. That was my first scull boat. Giving what I know now, I never would have built it. The actual hull shape is not the most efficient design. It is also way to tall. Probably not what you want to hear, but I wish someone would have told me before I spent a lot of time and money. If you want, shoot me a pm and I'll give you my number, I love talking sculling. There is a bunch to know about a efficient sculling hull design. Dale
