Simple things that make me smile

Had a good hunt today with a couple buddies, it has finally warmed up enough to get out and hunt a bit, with -18 temps last week the water was no place to be, it was a balmy 11 degrees whe we launched this morning, the Cans worked well today, every drake we shot was worthy of mounting, we also shot a half a dozen widgeon and mallards, the ringnecks were buzzing us all morning, always a delight to watch!

Rob and Louie in the boat, my new flip lids are working well and really hide you well from the birds

Here is a shot of one of the three lids closed, I can switch them to either side of the boat depending on what way the boat is facing, they are spring loaded so all that you have to do is lift the lid about a foot and they pop back behind you.

Fred~

Great pictures all around - congratulations on a fine rig and hunt!

What kind of water are you gunning? River? Lake? Reservoir? Fresh? Salt? Sure is different from anything I've seen here in the East.

All the best,

SJS

I really, really need to get out and hunt the big rivers up your way. Those are some beautiful birds! That is the true definition of the phrase "bull can." Thank you for posting!
