Had a nice little hunt this morning. Not many birds to scull on, these cooperated. Had to go alone today, my partner is sick.

Nice pics. What kind of boat is in the photos?

Mark W

Thanks Mark,

The boat is my own design. If you want to see more about it, search: no name scull boat build

Congratulations on a nice shoot! I love the birds-on-water photos. They can be hard to take - depending upon the weather and vessel. It's great when the birds have not yet been touched by human hands or canine lips!

All the best,

Thanks Steve,

The pictures look good when you get the low point of view from the scull boat. Once you touch them you can never capture the same effect. As far as canines, I plan on sinking my canines into them tomorrow night!

I'm not sure you know what a slow morning is....

Kevin,

That’s the beauty of a scull boat. Spot and stalk. If you can find a bird, you can go try for it. No waiting for them to fly to you. I have been extremely lucky, never been skunked in the scull boat. Knock wood....................

Sweet!!! Interesting the nicest Gadwalls always seem to have one brown feather in the upper tail coverts department, right in the middle. Cool pics...

Well done, Dale. You may think that is slow but for around here it would be a bumper harvest. Duck season for me is done for a couple of weeks anyway. My wife is in Wisconsin, we just had 15 inches of snow and it is 6F outside.

Took this last week, Steve. A bird my son, Rob, shot when we were out for an afternoon hunt. The "legs -up" caught my attention, and the photo turned out to be one that struck me as really nice for its sharpness & color.

Larry,

It's a Cannon Powershot SX50HS. I love this camera. I couldn't justify the money for a DSLR. I just don't use a camera enough. This camera has a 50X optical zoom lens 24-1200 mm. This camera does everything that I need it to, and more.
