So You're Begging For Some Snow?

Well here you go. Come and take it all. Had to cancel my hunt this morning on the Rio because if I couldn't get out of the yard. The roads weren't plowed and I-25 is shut down from Albuquerque to Las Cruces. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow. Temps in the morning are supposed to be a balmy 11F! Should be an interesting time putting decoys in the Rio. Now for the good news, I can practice my duck calling and won't be driving Bev nuts because she is in Wisconsin. Looking into the near future a week from today is supposed to be almost 60F. I'll keep my fingers crossed! Hopefully my kind of duck hunting weather will soon be here.

Do you need to borrow my snow blower? :)
It can wait for at least another week here. Mid 40s and brown for Christmas... not complaining.

Al - It's supposed to be in the 40's all week here in Central Illinois. Haven't even had my snow blower out yet...

Enjoy your white Christmas!

I wouldn't mind any precipitation up here. In the Portland area we average almost 7 inches of rain in Dec right now we are at .14" It has been an interesting year.

I had 14" of snow in my driveway this morning from an overnight dump. Just another day in the great white north!

Al, it looks like you had some wind with that stuff causing some nice drifts.

Al you have more snow then we have in Wis. We need more snow. Snowmobile trails in a lot of places are still closed. People who depend on tourist dollars are hurting.

I hope you and the kids were able to bring home some rabbits.

Sure wished that we had that 50F weather here. I'm jealous, David.

Funny you should mention that, Tim. I can still remember selling my John Deere Snow Blower before we left Wausau, WI. I smiled to myself thinking that I would never, ever, have to use one of them again. Wrong! Sure wished I had it today.

I guess I will have to, Pat. I just called Bev and she is enjoying her stay in Wisconsin. She made sure to rub it in about how nice it was. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Neal, same thing was happening here, also. Just before December rolled in we were on track to have the 2nd driest year in recorded history. Well, all that has changed---big time.
I hope you will be getting some much needed moisture up your way. The rose bushes need it.

You said it all when you mentioned this, Ray, "Just another day in the great white north!" I wholehearted agree with you. My 8 years in Alaska was like going to Heaven on a daily basis for that period of time.

This morning when I went out to feed the pups, the wind was at 17mph. I almost cringed when I heard a huge flock of snows flying north to their feeding grounds. The Rio is only 1.5 miles from us.

I hear you, Pete. I can remember all those taverns out in the country who really suffered when the snowmobile trails were closed. Seems to me that some of the snowmobile dealers went out of business also. Hope you get some snow soon.

If it is any consolation, you could catch a break. Winter was short lived in northern Illinois....recently.
