solution to pirate problem

Steve - I am not even giving them credit for that - OK one warlord got an idea...lets go out and hijack a ship and see what happens (and this is where the problem started). The shipowner parachutes $3 million dollars down to get his ship back. I can imagine Mr. Pirate laughing as he thinks, "Well...that works!". So he does it again. It works again. This is an interesting combination of low IQs on both sides.

So the other pirates ask, "Hey where'd you get all that money?" They figure it out and now they are off to the races!

This is as intelligent as teaching your chihuahua to shake hands. "If you shake my hand, I'll give you a Puppy-Roni". Do it twenty times in a row and pretty soon the little fella wants to jump up and high five you. Easy equation.

Except now they think money = brains and all of a sudden they are issuing conditions to the US Navy.

Thats what the point of my story was trying to address in the earlier post

(and I am not picking on anyone's chihuahua before that gets started)
 
I can't believe that there is an attempt at this not being so bad since the pirates haven't killed anyone yet. WTF? Like taking HOSTAGES isn't bad enough. Treating them well so it must be OK. The are a HOSTAGE. Think being a hostage is any fun? I bet if we were in the hostages shoes we wouldn't find it all that great.

Also, if they aren't killing anyone, why pay them? According to one suggestion, as long as they aren't killing anyone everything is OK. Why take hostages if there isn't an intent to kill them? If all the pirates are going to do is play cards with them, why send any ransom money? I'll tell you why, cause if ransoms aren't paid, they will start killing hostages. That's why the are called hostages.

The only solution to this “problem” is to treat piracy as it has been treated throughout its history; AS A CAPITAL OFFENSE. There is no excuse for leniency. Allow no safe harbor. Allow no safe passage. Allow no compromise. Hunt them down and kill them. Treat them like the vermin they are. Destroy the villages in which they live. They are treated like rock and roll stars in their home villages. Let the fierce hand of justice rain down on them in the comfort of their homes. Then and only then will their neighbors and families shun them. It won’t be so popular and glamorous to be a “gangsta” if your ass is hanging from a tree in your village.
