To all those that await and enjoy seeing this live and in person the Spring Migration is On. The vanguard waterfowl here were the Atlantic Canada geese. Today it's Redheads, Ring necked ducks, Buffleheads, Wood ducks and some flights of Teal. Each morning and late afternoon more birds will be seen and enjoyed to be logged in and some sketches will be done. No need for photos taken as there are zillions of them, and we all know what the birds look like. Being able to SEE them in person each Spring is a show that should not be missed.

Please report in and let us know what yer SEEING.

Vince, thousands upon thousands of Green Wing Teal are moving back through the New Jersey marsh's on their way north. Along with good numbers of Pintail and Canada geese.

Snow geese have departed about two weeks ago and are probably up your way and beyond.

Vince,
I90 across the Mississippi river (MN/WI border) has hundreds of Bald Eagles to look at, The divers that were here for the past couple weeks have moved Nort. Flocks of Canadas and now today we've got white Pelicans paddling around.

Our mid-Eastern Shore Canadas departed last weekend. Monday night while sleeping with our windows open, we heard migrating tundra swans several times during the night.

Not migration but nesting. Out removing some game cameras around my blind tues. midday and bumped a woodie bx. in creek mouth inspecting some downed trees from last blizzard. Out came a woodie hen . Back to same spot yesterday to do some chainsaw work and bumped same bx. out she came again. Pretty sure she's sitting on eggs already. Located on Mds. mid eastern shore.

Turkey season starts soon so the swallow-tailed kites should be here any day. I keep an eye out for them and they usually show up about week before the opener. Also, the red buckeye are blooming so the ruby throated hummingbirds should be back any day too.

We had a massive fallout of woodcock overnight. I was fetching the dog in the gray light and they were everywhere.

Ringnecks, Bluebill and Goldeneye scattered on open lakes here on the Indiana / Michigan border. I'm not sure the Goldeneye ever left our area. Had a pair of Hoodies check the woodduck box yesterday morning. The big flocks of Migratory Geese have moved out also. This reverse migration is a great time of year.

Our local wood ducks are back. Last year it was like they went on vacation across a pretty decent part of Tennessee and never came back. Very spotty through the summer.
