Not the best pictures but I am learning.

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. We're starting to see a few birds here as well, though the variety is not as great. Lots of resident geese here.

Nice pics!

The resident Canada geese here have already started nesting.
But we still have a lot of coots and gadwalls around too.

Great photos! The Whistler will always be one of my favorites.

We're hoping last weekend's snow is the last for this winter. You have given me the idea of getting over to the Hudson River tomorrow with my long lens - maybe I'll see some Whistlers of my own! My father-in-law carved the owl for crow hunting probably before WW II - I mounted it on our "Granary" in his honor.

BTW: Sandhill's are rare in NY - but I had a pair fly right over my shop last spring - great birds!

All the best,

SJS

Nice photos. I seen a bunch of beautiful Ringers and B.Bills today on area ponds. I had 5 blks 1 woodie and 2 mallards yesterday on our pond. The Resident Geese are driving me crazy! They're honking, courting on pond stirs up our Chessies. At dawn I might add.

Good job, Riley. I really enjoyed those pictures you posted. Nice to see where some of the sandhill cranes go when they leave here. Send water, please!

Must be neat to see (and hear) that many whistlers at once. Will they head west to CA now or back up the coast?

Hey Bob, I am not sure where our birds head to from hear. I know alot of the banded ones that have been taken around here are banded in Alaska.

Canadas are paired up and pond jumping, had 3 woodies and a pair of bufflehead on the pond yesterday. I only see the buffies on my ponds during their northward migration.
Bill.

I have a pond next to my shop and there are two paired geese using it right now. Lots of fun to watch the birds this time of year and the colors are amazing.
