Heading over to the Ducks Unlimited banquet tonight with a stash of calls to donate. Here are a couple of them...the new North Bay SwampThing - Crystal over glass with a real beaver tail covered soundboard set in bocote also wrapped with real beaver tail with matching bocote striker. This call sounds awesome...

And a BadMojo double reed timber style call 100% hand made from some of Al's Salt Cedar and also includes a beaver tail wrap. Oh wait, and I actually remembered to sign this one.

Thanks for looking,

I'll be interested in how they do at the banquet tonight, Steve. What gorgeous calls. Best of luck to you.

I can still remember cutting that tree down. The log was 18 feet and at least 2 feet at the stump. What was so unique about it was that the burls weren't just a few but made up the entire log. My friend, Phil N. who at one time was the guy who ran Bosque del Apache NWR, has made many bowls from this wood. He, too, is an artist just like you.

Thanks for supporting the ducks and beautiful calls! I really like the idea of the beaver tail wrap.

Thanks fellas, I appreciate the kind words. I hated to part with this turkey call, it sounded so good. They both went to happy new homes, I know the new owner of the turkey call though, so that's good news. I may have to visit him in the future.

Al...I hope you don't mind but I gave you a bit of a plug at the banquet as well. I had this sitting along with the duck call...

The wood for this call was generously donated by a good friend, Al Hansen of Socorro, New Mexico. Mr. Hansen cut this wood himself and had this to say about it…

Mr. Hansen also owns and operates some fine labs at Enchanted
Desert Labs in New Mexico www.enchanteddesertlabs.org. When you decide to look into a new hunting partner give Al a shout. I doubt you’ll be disappointed.
Good luck...bid high, bid often and enjoy the call! Remember, this all goes for the ducks.

Thanks again everybody, I'm going to have to make some more when I can.

Steve

Thanks again,

Reads like everyone involved did good. Parting with things one makes with their own hands and does it's job, is often difficult yet rewarding.

You got that right Vince. I always tell myself I can make another. But when I do I end up selling that one to someone too. One of these days I really will keep one for myself.
