Team Hitch plus one - Grandson scores First Duck

Lucas,
Way to go on your first duck. Even better that you got to go with your grandpa. I know he will think of this every time he is out in the swamp. Keep bugging him to take you some more so he can get some more pictures.
I hope you got a chance to sign the Robber.
You have a whole lot of hunting to look forward to.
Enjoy.

Lucas, You just took the first step on an incredible journey. Enjoy every step of the way. Congrats to gramps too by the way.

Hitch,

Congrats to Lucas. As soon as I have time, I will do him a greenwing hat pin.

Good shoot on Monday in surprisingly mild weather for this time of year. Got a nice sequence of pics on Sadie swimming down a cripple as well.

Another month to go up here. Cold weather returned last night, but looks like moderate temps to follow this week. Will lay in and watch football today and make a decision for Friday. Still having the most success with small sets (5-8 decoys) and the ocasional pair on a jerk line.

Did your jerk line kit arrive yet?

Hitch that is great. Congrats to you both. Awesome stuff. I know that Little Hank's hunts are the best for me. Keep it going. HHG

Thanks guys and Lucas and I will be heading out again tomorrow. And Pat, I'm working on Mom and Dad about the scouts...hopefully they will get him into scouting. My other grandson Aria is in the Cub Scouts down in West Palm, so that may do the trick. Aria and Lucas are very close.

Hitch,

I'd think twice about switching to a lighter gun. First off, he has blod on this gun and future misses with a different gun will be the gun's fault. Second, I am not a fan of light guns with smaller shooters. Gun weight is a great absorber of recoil. gun fit, load, etc are also important. the scouts is great! I wish I had stuck with them longer than I did. I was a scout in middle school and then quit in high school. I had too much going on and something had to go. Now, all these years later I remember, and use, the things I learned in scouts much more the wrestling takedowns or blocking techniques.

Thanks Bob,

Lucas loves stuff like that. He already sent in his story to Delta Waterfowl. And I've alread used the jerk string kit several times, and can tell it works! It's a nice kit for the price, I can't make it for that, and the bag is handy.
