The new TDB Blackjack build

Tony-we had a blind that came with the boat and had been made for it. The problem is that you just can't keep a rig like that(it was camo cloth) taught all the way around the cockpit and it tends to sag. I would go with a spray dodger, but would try and use the entire front deck. My thinking is that inside the dodger there should be enough space to put something-like a dog, or some gear you don't want on the floor, but it should be useable space. And while the picture is nice and works in settings where you have a back drop of cover to push up against, in low grass meadows/marsh, it sticks up too much and has too many angles. I think if you make it come from the front of the bow back to the beginning of the cockpit you can have a more gradual rise without the corners and sharp edges in the silhouette.

That is exactly why we are not using the original style blind. It just doesnt look good and seems to be very loose fitting. I didnt think about covering the deck with a dodger to allow for more storage area and leaving the cockpit area open but I like it. That would be perfect for decoys and a dog. But how do we cover the hunters?

I keep thinking Maybe I could put a Field layout blind on top of the cockpit. LOL

Tony-since the cockpit edges on that model are straight(unlike the wigeon), it is easy to make flapper boards or something similar and you could offer that as an add on or buyers can make their own. They don't need to be that high. Ours fold down inside the cockpit for running. There may be another method that is better. I would send you a picture but it is taken apart for the summer.
