This is my son's pinwood derby car. He saw a picture of a BBSB on my computer and said that it was what he wanted to make. I tried to explain that the displacement hull might not be too fast and that we needed a different hull but he wanted to go classic.
Thats a awesome Job! Your in big trouble He'll be wanting duck boat before a car and drivers lic. then a trk to tow it at 16. If ya thought your hobby is expensive now just wait, till your buying 2 and 3 three of everything for you and your son or sons. I know. HAHA . If he doesn't win w/ displacement hual, he'll need build to planing hull for us (speed freak) sneakboat guys next year. Again that is outstanding!
Now that's slick. My grandson opted to spray pain his car with camo colors.
As long he got it weighted to as close to 5 oz's as possible and polished up those nail-axles, he'll be alright (...that's where a dad or grandpa who reloads is a big asset!).
it is at 5.2 right now, the decoys pushed it over. He is going to take some wood out of the bottom tonight to loose the extra .2 The nail-axles are polished and the little ridges are gone. I had to glue them in because the wood cracked when we tried to put them on.
