Thrift shop decoy

I came out of the Dr. office today and saw my sisters car at a thrift shop across the street. I decided to run in and say hi and this guy was sitting right inside the front door.

I have two older cork black ducks with heads similar to this one. Unfortunately they where turned into lamps at some point. I took out the lamp parts and they are sitting on a shelf in my shop. I'll have to post some pics of them.

Googling the initials RJL with the word carver, I get a "signature to name" compilation on a fish carving website that lists a Ronald J Landeberg from Bad Axe,MI. Mebbe he tried his hand at a duck in '95.

Some times ya get lucky. I got a John Glen hen bluebill out of the trash a year or so ago. Appraised at 400.

Hi I am new to this site and I noticed this decoy post. I actually am the carver of this decoy, I carved it for a friend of mine from Alaska who used to live in Cape May Co. That's where the" Yukon Ed" came from.

Roy,

My first question is do you have any idea why it would have wound up in a thrift shop? That would stay put on my shelf.

Nice bird and welcome.
