Time to get back into boats

All ,

It has been sometime since my last post back in the day and life has changed with my business growing on and a few health issues but with all that stuff it has made me look at life a little differently . I love playing with boats and specifically vintage duckboat designs . A few weeks back I learned that Dave Clark only lives 30 minutes from me and he had a few vintage hulls that he wanted to move out to make room in his shop . I paid him a visit and not only did I pickup this 1940 Barneget Bay sailing hull I got to tour his amazing shop where he builds some awesome boats . I am very excited to start restoring this cedar planked boat that will become a motor driven boat as I do not know how to sail but I still want to maintain its heritage as much as possible . I look at this as a real diamond in the rough ! I will be posting pictures as I start this project this winter . Here are a few pics from adoption day .

What a beauty, and a great project. Looking forward to watching your progress.

thanks for sharing.

Very cool hull. Please keep us up to date on progress.

I like the looks of the shop in the background too!

Dave, enjoy your restoration on that fine Jersey sneakbox. If I were a woodworking type, I would be doing just what you are. But since I'm not, I instead enjoy watching people restore their's.

Congratulations, Dave!

Glad you have the opportunity to restore a classic. - sounds to me like a good time to learn to sail as well !

Whether you do or not, I'll wish you a fair wind and a following sea.

Hey Dave, Sailing is fun! Did you get the rigging with the hull? I'd be glad to offer lessons if you restore her.

That's the biggest Sneakbox I've ever seen!

I sailed my Dad's 22' gaff sloop for many years. As I'm sure you'll agree, 'tis magic!
