I don't usually post anything personal online. My thoughts and prayers are definitely with you, its the toughest situation I could possibly imagine. My wife and I recently had premie twins who spent a long stay in the NICU. God has definitely blessed us with the advancements in modern medicine and by instilling vocations in people to go into the medical field in general and pediatrics and neonatal in particular. Before we had children I never understood the bond a parent has to their child.

I often tell newly expecting parents that you will never ready understand how much your parents love you until you have your own children.
