Toyota Pickup Project

Eric I've watched this project unfold with the hopes of one day finding a Toyota and following in your foot steps and rebuild it. It is the perfect truck for the dirt backroads in the Eastern Sierra. Great project. Great outcome.

Eric,

Nice project and the restoration came out very well. I hope you have many years of enjoyment with this.

That said; there is a reason Ford owners referred to this vehicle ,as a "TOY-ota" back in the day. [ninja][ninja] [pirate]

Thank you for the kind words on the truck restoration. I'm enjoying driving it regularly now and am moving on to other projects. There is substantial difference between how it and my Tacoma drive. The Tacoma is definitely the product of engineering improvements, especially in terms of handling, power, and road noise, but I find a certain charm in the earlier pickups and know they're reliable and tough as nails when they leave the pavement. I showed the truck to Jeff's brother who was extremely complimentary of the way it turned out. His wife sent some pictures to their kids who said, "Maybe we should have kept it after all." If Jeff were around today I have no doubt he'd be giddy with his truck.

Eric, beautiful work and restoration. There is just something special about Toyota trucks. Not sure what it is. Im on my second and surely not my last.
