Trailer Losing Grease

I still did not locate a crack in the hub after everything is clean. Also, there was a fairly low amount of grease in the hub and bearing buddy.

I don't think my bearing buddies have a weep hole, unless I am missing something very obvious, but there are no holes that I can find on the side of the bearing buddy. Model is 1980A

Think I may re-pack the beaing and just put a cap over the tire without the bearing buddy and see if any grease comes out.

When you pump in grease, if you pump in too much the grease has to come out somewhere. This is the purpose of the weep hole, at least on my version of the bearing buddy. If you had no weep hole, how would the excess grease get out of the bearing buddy? It wouldn't come out the zert fitting and the end of the bearing buddy wouldn't pop out as it is held in place with a ring/spring clip thing (whatever they call those things).

Maybe there are bearing buddies without weep holes.

Straight from their web page;

WHAT IS A BEARING BUDDY® BRA?

bra.gif

The Bearing Buddy® Bra is a vinyl cover that fits over the Bearing Buddy® to contain excess grease and keep it off tires and wheels. The Bearing Buddy® automatic pressure relief feature allows excess grease to escape if the hub is overfilled. Many users tend to overfill, and, during travel, the excess grease can be thrown onto tires and wheels. The Bearing Buddy® Bra is easily removed for checking hub lubricant level. If excess grease accumulates inside the bra, periodically clean it out.

Was the vinyl cap full of excess grease?

It was not which is why I was thinking it wasn't overfill to begin with.

When I purchased the trailer there was some old grease on the outside of the bearing buddy, around the plastic blue piece, but that appeared to be grease that had leaked out previously and there wasn't a whole lot of it. No new grease from what I could tell was in the bra.

Sorry Tod no Armor All handy.
Can see the little it of grease that's made its way to the outside of the bearing buddy, this was there before my travels.
