I still did not locate a crack in the hub after everything is clean. Also, there was a fairly low amount of grease in the hub and bearing buddy.
I don't think my bearing buddies have a weep hole, unless I am missing something very obvious, but there are no holes that I can find on the side of the bearing buddy. Model is 1980A
Think I may re-pack the beaing and just put a cap over the tire without the bearing buddy and see if any grease comes out.
When you pump in grease, if you pump in too much the grease has to come out somewhere. This is the purpose of the weep hole, at least on my version of the bearing buddy. If you had no weep hole, how would the excess grease get out of the bearing buddy? It wouldn't come out the zert fitting and the end of the bearing buddy wouldn't pop out as it is held in place with a ring/spring clip thing (whatever they call those things).
Maybe there are bearing buddies without weep holes.
