Just couldn't resist---- As of today I am officially a full time screw off. I have retired from teaching other people how to make a living and now I am coasting. Have to admit it hasen't sunk in completely yet but the first weekday I hunt without having to think about Mon morning it should hit home. Don't mean to gloat (maybe a bit;-) but just want to share my good news with my on line family

Tom,

I am not a duck, game bird, or fish, but, thanks for the warning anyway. I always knew you were a screw-off, glad to hear that it is official now.

Way to go, Tom. You will enjoy life beyond your wildest dreams. Thank you for your contributions to further the education of our young people.

Congrats, Your a Lucky Man! Im still 13 years away.

Hey Rob, with that new rig of yours being prepared for the upcoming season, I'm sure you will have shot all the available ducks and geese when it is time for you to retire! Well, it least you'll have a ton of fun trying to.
Al

Just cause you're retired doesn't mean that you will actually shoot any better Tom. The ducks, geese and everything else should survive your retirement just fine.

In all sincerity - congratulations on the retirement as I know you've been thinking about it for some time. Looking forward to seeing the new RV and travel pics from all over when you and the wife take to the road.

See you in August and out west in the fall for another MN opener.

Fred, Since when did work ever inhibit your harvesting?

Congrats Tom. I hope you have a grand time.

Congrats Tom,
I made the plunge 18 months ago and have never looked back. I now understand why all my retired friends said "I don't know when I had time to work" I have taken up a couple of new hobbies and keep my days really full. You will love it.
Ron

Congratulations Tom! Enjoy all the free time and hunting trips while the rest of us are slaving away at work!

Thanks for all the good wishes, I did forget to warn the deer too. Yes Dave I have always been in screw off training but now I will be able to reach the master level, I'm sure you will let me know when I have caught up to you. Mark, I may not shoot any better but I will be able to shoot more now, buy stock in reloading supply companies. Thanks again for all the good thoughts. Al, I know you have worked retirerment to an art form and may ask for a hint along the way also.

I always say..."those who can... do, and those who can't...teach" So you've finally found your place in the world....

All kidding aside...Congrats!

Chuck you forgot a part its those who can . . . do. Those who can't . . .teach and those who can't teach . . . Teach gym. Friend of mine is a gym teacher.

Tom congrats. Enjoy the time

Tom, Congrats!!! You know that commercial where all those people took pictures of themselves at sunrise of their first day of retirement? Thats what I want to do. Then I'm going to send copies of it to all my younger co-workers....

John

PS, not that I'm counting down, but I only have 3 years, 7 months and 13 days to go....

Well played Tom....you'll have plenty of time to get things in order for opeing day but like everyone else, you'll probably wait till the last minute.

Rob - good for you as well seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I am at least 25 + before I would consider hanging it up. With 3 kids aged 9 -3, I have a lot of college to pay for. It's one of my rules that each of my kids will be college educated. After that, it is up to them whether they use book smarts or common sense.
