Good morning, All~
Still no decoys for me of late. Lots of farm chores - and also leading bird walks - one later this morning, then tomorrow and Thursday.
Wrapping up 2 boat projects - the 2 vessels about 100 years apart.
This Sculling Boat was built early in the 1900s, south of here along the Hudson River. I built a new cockpit cover and am refinishing the hull. The bottom needed lots of attention - and is now a slick Gloss Black. I just righted the hull yesterday and the topsides with get their first coat of Pettit Steel Gray later today.

This brand new Duck Invader is getting lots of thatch rails, the spray shield and a pair of flap boards. The spray shield is the same XL (wider and taller) shield I have molded for a few South Bays.

I restored my own Indian River canoe back in February - but finally put some good bottom paint on her. It is not anti-fouling paint - just a nice reddish color - custom mixed by Geo. Kirby Paint - to evoke the bottom paints of my youth. The Sanford Red is a semi-gloss.

And - From the Bench of George Williams - a nice trio of bull Baldpates....

BTW: Sitting here at my dining room table - at 4:09 AM - I am listening to a nicely drawn-out OOOO-WAWWWWW of a Barred Owl very close by. Wish the windows were open!
All the best,
SJS
