Yes it?s mahogany ,but has been paint 3 times.

If it doesn?t warm up soon here, I may have to set up shop in the living room.
Any suggestions on how to approach the subject with Jennifer?

Set up when she is out grocery shopping. When she gets back, tell her you will knock it done and clean up when you are done. "Done" being the key word, if you get my drift. [w00t]

Its beautiful. Glad you are cleaning it up from that hideous paint. I believe the sides are Sapele. Maybe even quarter sawn.

nice looking piece. ,
I've never brought one back from that condition before. It needed everything and mostly, at the end, just needed a ton of oil and time to gently get things moving again. I thought I resembled it wrong for a while. Even though things were clean they were frozen. Little by little it came back to moving and to fire it was amazing. Super proud of it. I don't want to give it back!

Came out great. Are you going to try some light loads thru it to see how it shoots. Be a shame to have such a fine looking piece and not shoot it at least once!

I was a sissy and cut down some low brass loads to blanks, then shot the low brass and then stepped up to Black Cloud.......the thing patterns like a sledgehammer, I love it......but, the owner is as excited as me so.........another one out of the shop.
